Interview with Patricia A. Mullins
Patricia, what drives your passion for writing, and how does your personal experience inform your work?
The truth is, I never had a passion for writing. However, I decided to write a book about my healing after divorce. My healing comes from sharing my experiences with anyone willing to listen, which, in turn, allows me to heal. It is with this approach that I integrate sharing.
As an educator, entrepreneur, and serial encourager, how do you balance your various roles and responsibilities?
Balancing my roles as an educator, entrepreneur, and encourager has not always been easy or fruitful. However, I have discovered that when my efforts do not yield results, I step back, reassess, and begin anew.
What are some of your notable achievements as an author and speaker, and how have they impacted your life and work?
My most recent notable achievement is completing the " 10 Steps to Overcome Divorce Stress " guidebook. It has been a labor of obedience and fulfillment. After years of procrastination in finishing the book, I feel 0⁰0
N to write about the dangers of causing delays.
Can you share with us any personal experiences or stories that are included in your book, and how they illustrate the principles and lessons you're teaching?
The first chapter is titled "Emotional House Cleaning" because it was the first step I took on my healing journey. I was encouraged to stand in the living room and release all my emotional ties to the household, both as a wife and a bonus mother. Initially, it felt like a foreign and uncomfortable principle, yet it proved effective in my healing process.
How do you stay motivated and inspired to continue writing and sharing your message with others?
I stay motivated and inspired to continue writing and sharing my message to those who are also hurting and feeling vulnerable. I recognize the importance of sharing my advice and experiences so others who are suffering will know that they are not on this journey alone
What role do you believe faith and spirituality play in the healing process, and how do you incorporate these elements into your book?
The end of a relationship brings a pain unlike any other. However, faith and spirituality serve as the most effective tools for healing on this journey. I practice my faith and spirituality daily, which are invaluable resources for anyone navigating a divorce.
Your book, "10 Steps to Overcome Divorce Stress," offers a unique approach to healing and transformation. Can you share with us what inspired you to write this book, and how it can help readers?
It became apparent to me that sharing my experience would break a lot of shame that I found that others were feeling the same way. It was the freedom I felt that that I knew others need to know that they too could find freedom from divorce stress.
pain I was experiencing at that time. The book was created for those who are going through the same hurt. Today, my steps still prove to be valuable and practiclal.
How do you hope readers will apply the lessons and insights from your book to their own lives, and what impact do you envision your book having on others?
I hope each reader will give themselves a chance for healing and to recognize that wholeness and renewal are attainable. I want them to walk away knowing that they have to put in the work. What are your long-term goals as an author, and how do you see your writing evolving in the next 5-10 years?
My long-term goal as an author is to have more books available for readers experiencing emotional stress from life itself. There are many books on the shelves right now, but I possess a unique voice, and I want to share that voice and those experiences with the masses. So, look out for many more books to come.
Can you share with us any upcoming projects or books you're working on, and how they align with your overall mission and message?
I'm so excited to share that my upcoming projects that include one-on-one coaching as well as public speaking at forums, conferences, and churches to deliver my unique approach to becoming healed from the stresses of divorce. I'm excited about it, and I look forward to sharing what God has given me with others who are battling the stresses of a difficult divorce.
